Swanski, a painter, graphic, ilustrator author of animations and videoclips. He was born in 1980 in Warsaw, and belongs to the so called transofrmation generation. Though his young age, Swanski is already an accomplished artist of many forms, in Poland and abroad, associated with urban culture. He also recently had his first succeses at modern art auctions. His art often comments and documents the surrounding reality.

When he was a child, everyone said that in 2000 we will all be flying into outer space for vacation, and suburbs will not have airports but spaceport (kosmodrom) instead. Its 2009 and Macintosh files still often fail to open on PC, there is no AIDS vaccination, and people still die of cancer..... and well when it comes to flying to space, doubts have emerged weather the historic first landing on the moon was not a mistification directed by one of the players in the cold war game.

Cosmos is a symbol, its the cradle of hummanity. According to Daeniken's theory our planet was fertilised by beings from outer space. They fertilised it and flew away....its the source of our fear, feelings of abandonment and solitude. This theory like others more or less believeable brings the author to the problem of egsistance and the begining. Cosmos is one of those few places, that we still know so little about, and about which so many unbelievable stories are made.

In the works, which we can see at KOSMODROM 3000, the artists treats the cosmos like a metaphore of soltitude, fear of abandonment and lack of acceptance. The universe of information and forms which content can také, the world of internet communities, which exist more virtualy then in reality, unrelentless autocreation in the search of acceptance – it is a blindfold on the eyes of soltitude.

Swanski chooses the canvas as an interface to show the new conditions of interhuman relations. It is also another try for a dialog with himself. The artist introduces the viewer to a world, where the distance of time and space is again growing, pushing individuals apart. On the foreground of our associations the endlessness of the space vacuum emerges. This is the space that Swanski gives us for our reflectionss about technology, which would like to dominate over Nature.

The May exhibition will also be another act in the Kosmodrom series. The works from this series were exhibited during kultural and artistic events in Warsaw, Prague, Milan, Basel, or Berlin. They took different forms: from murals created live during exhibitions, thru painting – the nobel medium of artistic expression, drawings and design. During the „Kosmodrom 3000“ exhibition you will see painings, a series of graphics, and two vinyl Kidrobot-Munny variations, as well as a large format canvas work, which will be created in the venue in the week prior to the exhibition.

The next act will be seen during „Noc Muzeów“ during the Red Bull Room project in Modern art center (CSW) in Warsaw.
